How do I upload files to my account?
Article There are many ways to upload webpages, images, and other files. We recommend FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software or your Control Panel File Manager. No matter what method you choose, you can upload and download files 24 hours a day, as often as you like.

FTP:

To upload with FTP software, you will need the following pieces of information from the Welcome Email that we sent you when you joined us:

Your Host/Server Address.... ftp.yourdomain.com

Your User Name.................. (case sensitive)

Your Password..................... (case sensitive)

Follow the links below for detailed instructions on setting up and using these popular FTP programs:

File Manager:

To use the File Manager, first login to your Control Panel and find the link marked "File Manager", then once it opens, simply navigate to the folder that you want to upload to and click the upload button.

Directory Structure:

The directory structure of your hosting account is as follows:

domain
|
|__ mail (Your email is stored here)
|
|__ tmp (Website statistics files stored here)
|
|__ public_html (Main Directory - Upload your website into this directory)
|
|__ www (Symbolic link to public_html)
|
|__ etc (Details for mail/password protect stored here)

CAUTION - DO NOT DELETE ANY OF THE ABOVE DIRECTORIES IN YOUR ACCOUNT.

We have setup a temporary index.htm file in your account that displays an "under construction" message. Until you overwrite this file with your own, or delete it completely, the default message will continue to be displayed when someone accesses your site. You may also upload a homepage called index.html, which our system will recognize as a higher priority than our default index.htm file, so it will be loaded instead.

When you first FTP into your account, you'll be taken to your "home" directory. Don't confuse this with your "web directory." The home directory is "not" accessible to the World Wide Web; it is a private directory where critical system files reside. The /public_html directory is where web accessible files are placed.

As soon as a file is uploaded to the web server, it is available for all to see. If, after uploading a file, you are still unable to see the updated file in your web browser, try hitting the "Refresh" or "Reload" button. If this doesn't work, try pressing F5 or CTRL+F5. Some browsers have very tenacious "caches" - places where pages are temporarily stored on your computer. You may need to manually empty your browser cache to see a new or updated page on your site.
